ACADEMIC APPROACH

Teaching methodology embraced at Dakchyata is very much modern and progressive in design. It prioritizes student learning and happiness as major aspects. Mentored by renowned hospitality experts, few special methods practiced include; inquiry method, project method, case study method, lab-supported experiment method, and field survey method. Classroom instructions under the mentioned methods form in the blend of a plethora of skill focused curricula, outreach programs and others all drawn on the real-hospitality sectors, start-up and business fronts. These designs demand active participation of students and faculty in completing problem solving activities jointly as a team. These ongoing processes help students construct learning as a result of actions they do being self-motivated.

Group work

Under the blended approach, group or teamwork is practiced at DAKCHYATA as a central method that involves the students of different capacity in problem solving activities relating to their syllabic topics delivered in class and beyond the class situations. Group works are designed to empower students learn critical thinking and creativity as significant tool to learning hospitality and business management skills. Subject faculty assign group activities in their respective subjects that demand problem solving in team efforts which the students are required to carry out within and beyond their classroom spaces. Such activities relate to numerous areas of management in which unfolding solutions is a goal of learning. Few group works selected at DAKCHYATA include review works, report writing, project presentations all held in their pertinence to enhance students managerial skills.

Case Study

Case study is one of the most practiced methods of teaching at Dakchyata. It exposes students to real-time business cases relating to success, decision and problem solving topics of hospitality and business management areas. It is practiced as a part of internal evaluation in the process of teaching management courses at +2 through BBS and above level. Real cases are selected for students to analyses and assess the issues. The students are then instructed to present their findings and answers on the problems suggested in the cases. The case study practices develop advance skills e.g. critical thinking skills and creativity in students.

Presentations

At DAKCHYATA our faculty emphasize an ability to make sound and professional presentations in each subject as a core academic component of learning management science and its application for leading in the real-business world. Following this, students are trained and so assigned to make presentations these areas e.g.’ Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Computer Science, Mathematics, Hotel Management, and language subjects. Subject presentations prepare our graduates with confidence on career learning that they need to use this skill in the professional fronts when they shall be selected to lead as managers, entrepreneurs etc. Hence, students are encouraged to make a selection of topic of their choice in the subject areas, review the literature and make presentations in groups in the predetermined schedule.

Homework, assignment and project work

Dakchyata’s approach is to engage students on learning responsively as essential tool to graduate with achievement of independent working and professional skills. Students are involved in homework as every day and usual routine work in all subjects in general.
